BDCI Festival Chair – Jo Discombe, recently held a clay pigeon shoot at one of the UK’s most prestigious shooting grounds – the West Midland’s Shooting Ground in Hodnet, Shropshire, to raise funds for the BDCI. 16 Butchers and Farmers had a thoroughly enjoyable day shooting a variety of sporting targets of 8 stands, and finishing with a very challenging 4-man team 100 high pheasant flush. The weather was simply perfect too, as the sun shone all day.

High Gun was Faye Smith, a Young Farmers Club member from Bedfordshire, winning a magnum of champagne, hip flask and a £100 WMSG voucher, some of our Worshipful Company of Butchers livery colleagues were in attendance too, Steve Thompson and Julien Pursglove were placed in the sporting competition.

£1125.00 was raised between the guns and sponsors for BDCI.

Andrew Garvey, BDCI Trustee and Spokesman said, “We are incredibly grateful to Jo for all her hard work organising this event and for the funds it raised. Thanks to all who took part, sounds like it was a great day!”
